Julie Polumbo is the principal consultant at Polumbo Solutions and has over 15 years experience working with both domestic and international nonprofit organizations. Her career spans many sectors including education, youth development, leadership, volunteer management, human resources, recruitment, and organizational capacity building. Becoming a military spouse and transporting her career every couple of years has equipped Julie with many of the skills and abilities she now uses to support her clients.

Julie began her career in Washington, DC as the Programs Director for the sister organizations, She Should Run and Women's Campaign Fund, supporting women across the country to run for public office. She developed and launched a 50 state partnership strategy that served as a foundation for programming for years to come. She then went on to serve two tours in the Peace Corps, starting in Ukraine where she focused on rural civil society development in Crimea.

As a Response Volunteer, Julie went on to serve in Zambia as the National Malaria Coordinator, where she founded a volunteer malaria committee, which motivated a drastic increase of malaria eradication projects among volunteers. Julie continued her international work in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, working on education and literacy projects for the U.S. Agency for International Development.

In her time there, Julie trained and supported a team of over 100 volunteers and developed systems and training programs that support lead volunteers. During her tenure, the volunteer team has been praised for executing one of the most successful community events in the station's recent history.
